HDR Engineering Inc. (HDR) in partnership with Clarkson Construction Company is assisting KDOT on its first progressive design-build project. KDOT is committed to delivering the transportation infrastructure improvements necessary to support the Panasonic manufacturing facility. This roadway expansion required an extremely short schedule, with just 6 months for procurement, 6 months for design, and approximately 18 months for construction. Because of the schedule drivers, multiple utility relocations, and numerous third-party interactions, a collaborative delivery approach was used.
