NSPECon27 Heads to Reno, Nevada
The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) today announced that NSPECon27, the Society's flagship annual conference, will be held July 27-30, 2027, in Reno, Nevada.
After exploring several potential host cities, NSPE’s Board of Directors selected Reno for its affordability, accessibility, and rapidly expanding engineering and technology sector—qualities that make the city a strong fit for the professional engineering community.
“Licensed professional engineers have a pivotal role in innovative engineering practice and harnessing emerging technologies that will move our society forward, while putting public health, safety, and welfare at the forefront,” says NSPE President Breck R. Washam, P.E., F.NSPE. “As a rising technical hub for innovation and sustainability, Reno is a great place to fuel inspiration and enhance the engagement and learning that will take place during NSPECon27.”
Why Reno?
Once known primarily for its gaming culture, Reno has spent the past decade transforming into one of the fastest-growing engineering and advanced manufacturing hubs in the country; a reinvention so significant that the U.S. Economic Development Administration has designated the region an official Tech Hub.
What Attendees Can Expect
Beyond the professional backdrop, Reno offers attendees an accessible, walkable conference experience with easy airport access, a growing downtown, and proximity to the Sierra Nevada mountains and Lake Tahoe for those looking to extend their stay.
NSPECon27 will retain the programming members count on, including the Leadership Summit, Women's Leadership Program, awards program, and dedicated networking events, alongside the technical and professional development sessions that anchor the conference each year.
Improved Timing for State Societies
NSPECon27 will also take place one week earlier than in past years, a change made directly in response to feedback from state society leaders who asked to be home in their own states in time for PE Day. The revised dates allow attendees to carry the energy and connections built at NSPECon27 directly into local PE Day engagement back home.
Registration and additional conference details, including the conference website, will be announced in the coming months.
