Hartfiel Automation, a distributor of pneumatic and motion control automation components, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to support the Wichita and central Kansas territory.  This critical role will cultivate strategic relationships with current and future customers in efforts to increase sales, gross profits, and market share.  We are looking for a super star with a strong engineering background and proven relationship building skills. 

To be successful in this role, an individual will need to analyze current customer requirements and make recommendations for proper solutions.  This role is a consultative sale where the goal is to help the client become more efficient and/or more profitable.  This role will need to maintain knowledge around focus products and have a practical knowledge of all additional product lines.  This includes a working knowledge of servo motors, motion control and industrial control networks.

 

It will be important to utilize the funnel process to identify, prioritize, gain and maintain market share.  While attaining a goal of four to five effective sales calls per day, you will need to update sales and funnel activities on a weekly basis. 

 

A degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas is preferred – Fluid Power Technology, Robotics or Motion Control Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.  In addition, five plus years of experience in a related field is desired.

Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for coordinating high technical portion of work associated with the testing and/or commissioning of electrical distribution and transmission substations for utility clients. Individual will grow to provide direct supervision over startup personnel along with others suppliers such as contractor electricians and engineering staff or may assist commissioning agents. Individual will develop a strong background in protection and control circuits along with the knowledge to test microprocessor based transmission relays such as Schweitzer, GE, Areva and ABB, a plus. Superior knowledge of computers is required along with an ability to perform automated relay testing by utilizing a laptop, a plus.

MAJOR DUTIES

·         Serve as highly technical person to perform relay commissioning at utility substations, a plus.

·         Consult with clients commissioning agents to determine the customer's needs and priorities.

·         May need to assist in providing written procedures for switching, energization, isolation methods for testing and commissioning work.

·         May need to assist in coordinating and overseeing substation technicians, electricians and serve as project manager (supervisory and non supervisory positions available).

·         Serve as primary customer contact for specific projects.

·         Professional presentation required in dealing with employees, clients and suppliers.

·         Prevent unnecessary outages while working in Brownfield Substations or on any type of energized equipment.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY

·         May assist in the management of project staff. Positions do exist with no management requirements.

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

·         Knowledge of testing, commissioning and maintenance of power equipment a must.

·         Superior Safety record.

·         Broad experience with wide variety of electrical apparatus used in power industry, including transformers, breakers and switchgear required.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS

·         Associate (or higher) in Electrical Engineering

JOB CONDITIONS (Travel, overtime, evening meeting, etc.)

·         30% travel required/annum

·         15% overtime on average/annum

·         1% evenings/annum

Our client, an independent testing and engineering company is seeking an Electrical Engineer with ten years or more of field experience in Electrical Power Testing for Utilities and Industrial Power Distribution. 

MAJOR DUTIES

·         Perform Short Circuit, Coordination, Testing and Arc Flash Studies on electrical distribution systems for Utilities, Industrial and Commercial customers

·         Consult with Clients and In-House Engineers to determine the customers needs and priorities.

·         Assist in quoting projects and scheduling.

·         Perform Power Systems Studies.

·         Professional presentation required in dealing with employees and clients.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY

·         Assist in the management of project staff

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

·         5-10 years of experience in Power Systems Testing and Analysis

·         Knowledge and hands-on substation design/build

·         Knowledge and hands-on Electrical Switchyard gear

·         Excellent Management and Supervisory Skills

·         Must be well versed in power system simulation software, specifically SKM/Power Tools

·         Experience should include the following:

o   Low / Medium Voltage Systems

o   Distribution & Transmission Systems

o   Generator Protection

o   Grounding
