Don your favorite football team’s jersey and join thousands of people across the nation in the fight against hunger during Souper Bowl Weekend of Caring. We are scheduled for 10 volunteers for this opportunity! RSVP by end of day Thursday, Feb 10th.

Please note volunteers must be 16 or older. 

 

The Volunteer Engagement Center is a vital part of Harvesters’ mission to feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow.  In this area, volunteers sort and repack food, which assists Harvesters in feeding more than 141,500 people each month.  Volunteer tasks are assigned based on product availability and project prioritization.  Opportunities include:

  • Sorting and boxing nonperishable food
  • Packing fresh produce
  • Sorting and boxing bread
  • Repacking ready-to-eat food and bulk products
    • May include refrigerated or meat products
  • Packing BackSnack


Please note the following requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 16 years or older
  • Based on current guidance from the CDC, Harvesters has implemented the following mask policy:
    • All visitors will be required to wear masks when they are visiting us at our Kansas City or Topeka facility.
    • Everyone is expected to wear the mask in a manner that fully covers your nose and mouth. Masks should not be worn below your nose.
  • All volunteers must sign a waiver prior to their volunteer shift.
    • The volunteer must be able to read, comprehend and attest to the information contained in the waiver independently to satisfy the COVID safety protocol requirement.
  • Long pants and close toe shoes are required.
    • Some activities may require hair nets and other food safety garments
